The video received heavy rotation on Canada's Much Music and MTV. This prompted a Canada wide tour in which he and the other artist featured on the single would open for Internationally famed Hip Hop artist Busta Rhymes. Mikey G would go on to make other featured vocal performances for many artists across the GTA. Working with artists such as Toronto Rap duo Tef and Don on their hit release ''Thug Pretty" which also received heavy rotation on Toronto's hit radio station 93.5 FM, and was #1 on CIUT, this was followed by an American tour to promote the singles success.

Facing the many challenges of the Toronto Urban Music industry Mikey G was forced to take a break  from Music and returned to the scene in 2015, with a self-titled showcase called "Who is Mikey G”. This show case would also feature many other artists such as legendary Scratch (The Roots), T-Gramz, and Dre Barz to name a few.

In July 2016,  Mikey G would  come face to face with life and  death   becoming critical from a Spontaneous Pneumothorax, however fate would have more in store for him, not even a month after almost losing his life and doctors telling him he would not be able to sing, Mikey G went on to win Toronto's biggest Karaoke competition Boston Pizza Idol  in August of 2016.

Versatile, a word to best describe Mikey G, who is   now the co-lead  singer for renowned band City Soul. Mikey G is taking his artistry to another level, whilst focusing on his part of  City Soul, he    continues to work on his  up and coming EP and  continues to feature with many artists   across the GTA.

“After migrating to Canada in 1999, I had a dry spell, not having found a band to play with until 2013.  I was asked to play at church, which I did.  In 2015, a friend told me to come check out a band playing at a pub.  The band was great.  So, I asked the band leader Michael if it would be okay that I sit in sometime.  Without hesitating, he said yes anytime.  The following week, I went to sit in with the band.  And since that moment, I was accepted as a member of CitySoul.”
